Happy Birthday Honeyricci!!!

On the 20th of January sometime in the early 90’s, Oyindamola Oluwatomi Olabisi Anuoluwapo Yewande Claudia Ogunbekun was born. She was blessed with many gifts, great intellect, ethereal beauty, creativity, charisma, elegance, kindness and humility. Every path she has walked, choices she has made up to this day brought forth the manifestation of these gifts one by one. She has been through the fire, tested and tried put under pressure and now she is a diamond, double refined and full of grace. This birthday for me was a time of great gratitude like never before. I reflected on how far I have come and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. I ascribe all glory and honor to God because only Him has brought me this far.

This year, I was in a very mellow mood where the topic of celebrations were concerned. I just wanted something intimate, meaningful and private. All I wanted to do was get cute on that day, feel good with myself and move along with my daily activities. Definitely a prebirthday shoot, balloons, confetti and all the “extra”ness was not in my agenda. However two days to my birthday I decided to be a bit spontaneous and called up one of my favourite photographers Ayo Alasi and put together and simple shoot. I figured, I deserve some nice new pictures for my friends to post and I haven’t had any recent professional shoot done.

It was a 3 outfit shoot and  none of the outfits I ended up using for the shoot were even premeditated. I got back from work that day, went into my closet and fished out something cool. I hadn’t made my hair yet so I picked up a nice braids wig I bought a while back and haven’t rocked yet with some accessories, a pair of heels, beat my face to perfection and was on my way.

Blazer: DOS Clothing Store
Cami: Asos
Jeans: Spoke’s World

This was to serve as the corporate, mature look for the shoot. I chose this gold detail black blazer from DOS clothing store because it gave the covered up classy look but still had the rocking “birthday girl” vibe to it.

This was my favourite picture for this look because of the mysterious look I had on and the red background.

top: Ankara freak
Accessories: honeyricci
styling: honeyricci

This was the designated colourful outfit which from my experience, photographers absolutely relished in their shoots. I got this cold shoulder Ankara print top from my friend Ope as a gift. It was a beautiful look and i got to show off some of that popping skin 😉 and of course the photographer loved it.

This was my favourite shot for this look and I dare say, the show stopper of the whole shoot. everyone loved it!

Outfit no3

Switched up the ombre lips for this rich bold colour. wetnwild beauty lipstick in “Cherry pickings”.

this was the party girl glamazon look necessary for this new 24year old who is happy and wants to have fun! i remember i purchased this dress about one and half years ago for a dinner party. i only wore it that day (and then one other day when no one saw me *lol*). it was just right, glamourous and i showed off some leg which was a necessity 😉

This was my favourite shot for this final look. what can I say? I look like a freaking celebrity!!

as delightful as these pictures are, it wasn’t close to the highlight of my day when i got a surprise gift from my wonderful lover and bestfriend. a Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera for more professional pictures of my work. i was so excited, i was literally screaming!

My birthday celebration was pretty calm, with lots of cake, smiles and family time. this is one year i won’t forget. Here’s a sneak peak into some of the memories.

That’s all for now guys. thanks for reading. God bless

You know I’m awesome, xoxo.
