DHello again dear readers, so I had an interview with Dynamixontv about two months ago. It was really fun and inspiring and I got to teach makeup on TV. I got invited for the interview like a day or two before and was asked to bring my box for a demonstration, little did I know that we were gonna have a full blown makeup tutorial in the studio. The interview was to be aired on dynamix on Tv which shows on Silverbird televison (Dstv channel 252) between 2:30pm and 3:30pm every Monday. I was also to be featured in their makeup section during the program giving some makeup tips and tricks. I haven’t had the opportunity to view the broadcast as I hardly watch tv but about a month after I got to see some clips on their instagram page. I was really impressed with what I saw and I posted the clips everywhere! Lol. So I thought why not share on my blog also.
During the interview, I was asked different questions about my makeup business, how it started, what inspired me and so on. I was pretty comfortable expressing myself and giving aspiring enterpreneurs advice. Here are some of the clips from the interview.
I described my inspiration as the love I have for makeup and how I kept investing even when returns were not evident. I hadn’t even had any professional training at first and I had this huge haul of makeup items. I stated how you invest in the things you love. I wasn’t given any specific “capital” by anyone to “”start” a makeup business it was something that just evolved from passion.
When I was asked about challenges I have encountered embarking on this journey, I laughed and explained how I don’t see challenges, which was the plain truth. I honestly became a makeup artist because I’ve never recieved that much opposition about anything else in my life. I mean I had be doing something right to cause such a stair. If you met me two years ago, everything and everyone was pointing me in the opposite direction of being a makeup artist but you know, as a child of God, challenges are like bread for us. They only make us go harder. So people trying to discourage you doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go after what you love. Even in times of financial difficulty I advice people not to use that as an excuse but push to their best ability and trust in God.
Dynamix created an avenue for student enterpreneurs called The Bankable Student Entrepreneur to invest their brilliant business ideas. I supported the notion and was asked to give advice to the upcoming student entrepreneurs.
My advice to the student entrepreneurs: If you persist, there is something in the universe that would make things work in your favour. Do not listen to anyone that says you can’t do it. Listen to your inner voice and the voice of God (Phillipians 4:13) that tells you you can! You need to belive in yourself. Persistence is key! Major key alert! Lol
Where do I see my business in the next two to three years? Of course greater heights I see as my life is only upwards and forwards. The glory of God rests upon me mightily. I see myself having my own store’ with a larger client base , (you know international sturvs :p) inDubai, London, Paris, USA. Dare to dream. Lol. I also see myself having my own line of products by God’s grace.
So, there you have it! That’s a summary of my interview with Dynamix on TV. Bigger ones coming through. It was splendid and for those of you who have been curious, thank me later.
You know I’m awesome, xoxo.
