Hello guys, today I’m going to be sharing with you some products I just copped during the just concluded Jumia sales.

For those of you that are shopaholics like me, you would be aware of the big 5 year anniversary sale and of course wouldn’t want to let things pass you by. I indulged myself a whole lot more than I’m proud to say. From smoothie makers, to makeup, to camera equipments, I didn’t leave any stone unturned being the unapologetic opportunist I am. Think about it though, in the long run, I’m going to enjoy every penny and I have my indulgence to thank … I’m  just saying.

The products I would like to share are the first set I ordered which were mainly skin care products. I had been trying to create some DIY recipes and I checked Jumia for some of the ingredients and it was crazy! They literally sell EVERYTHING on that site! Here are the main skincare stuff I copped and prices:

  1. TRS ROSEWATER: Sale Price: 850NGN

I have used this particular brand of rosewater before and the benefits are endless! I decided to buy another. Rosewater is an essential skincare ingredient I think all beauty enthusiasts should possess. When put to good use rosewater can help various skin isssues from acne, to excess oil, dull complexion and is also an awesome fix for your makeup. I hadn’t repurchased for a while now because I have so many products I use on my skin and there was hardly any space for anything extra in my beauty routine.  However, this time, what really made me buy it was the sudden rave about some DIY makeup setting spray. With rosewater being the primary ingredient, I wasn’t going to pass on it during this sale. I have used it alone and together with other ingredients and I am very satisfied with the product so far. This is a MUST HAVE.

Okay, I’m sure a good number of us can attest to the goodness of good old Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). I always have this in my closet because of its many uses. I mainly use ACV for my hair as a rinse after shampooing and I also use it on my face as a toner by mixing it with water. This has been my staple toner for a while now because of its antiseptic yet hypoallergenic effect on my sensitive acne prone skin. I used Heinz product before but when I ran out and checked the site, I found this as a cheaper substitute and I must say it is every bit as effective as the bigger brands. No complaints here, if anything, it is much more concentrated. There is no argument on this one. It’s a SMASH HIT!!

3. ST IVES APRICOT SCRUB “Timeless Skin”: Sale Price: 1350NGN

I definitely had complaints with this one as my initial choice on the site was “blemish control”. For those familiar with the products, you would be aware of thr different ranges of this scrub. It comes in Fresh Skin, Blemish Control and Timeless skin. I had used the blemish control scrub about two years ago and I was really impressed with the results. It is actually a facial scrub but I don’t use it on my face because its too harsh and breaks me out. I, however, found other uses for it. It does an excellent job in evening out the skin tone of your under arms and bikini areas and dealing with ingrown hairs.

I decided to repurchase the scrub but by the time I ordered it, it had gone off sale and without my knowledge it was swapped for the “Timeless skin”. I complained to the customer service and was given the option to reorder for the one I wanted but I saw a different price so I decided to hold my peace. I have been using this for about three weeks although not regularly enough but I must say its doing a pretty decent job. It is milder than the blemish control scrub but for the discounted price I would say its was pretty good deal.

Glycerine is a very important ingredient and is present in almost every skin product you find in stores from soaps to lotions and even makeup. It is a natural moisturizer, has anti-aging properties, smoothens the skin and gradually lightens the skin. It has the unique ability to trap moisture from the atmosphere and leave it on the skin to keep it moisturized. This was something I had to cop sooner or later because there are some things being a skin care junkie like myself necessitates. I saw this particular vendor “Felice” on the  Jumia site who has basically all the oils known to man and many skincare additives from Borax to AHAs. My main intention for getting it was to create my own setting spray along with the rose water. I also made a glycerine and rosewater toner for myself.

Honestly speaking, this particular product hasn’t been friendly on my skin so far. It does the work of locking in moisture and keeping my face dewy all day but that has been accompanied by break outs. Glycerine is a very sensitive product that should be used in the right quantity by a professional. I assume added way too much into my DIY products and hence the unsatisfactory results. But for those with less sensitive skin, its worth the try. I also attempted using it to soften up my hair by adding it to my deep conditioner and I admit that went quite well so it isn’t a total waste for me just yet.

Aloe vera gel is the juice gotten from the aloevera plant. It has been said to have effective anti-inflammatory effect in the body either when ingested or used topically. It is an astringent as well as emollient for the skin effective for sunburn, acne and other bacterial or viral infections of the skin. I have been searching for the natural one for so long I decided to go for this. Most people would advice to grow your own plant or buy the raw leaf from herbalists but I wasn’t able to get around doing that. This vendor also sold many natural items on Jumia so I figured it wont be a bad idea to try it out. So far, this has been the most effective of all the products I ordered. It helped with healing one time I got a bad sunburn and has helped control my acne. I included it in my DIY recipe for makeup spray and also used it on my hair. I would share details of all the DIYs I created using this product soon.

This is a chemical exfoliant made from Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) that helps with resurfacing new skin by getting rid of the old, dead skin. For those with acne and hyperpigmentation, it is an excellent way to rejuvenate the skin. I was looking for a good product that can serve this purpose for me because my skin needed a boost after an acne outbreak. ZO Medical is a quality skincare brand by Dr. Zein Obagi who is a dermatologist, world-renowned skincare expert, award-winning inventor, educator and author. I knew it was worth giving it a try. I have used it a few times already and its been great so far. I’ll do a complete review on it soon.

That is all for my Jumia Sale skincare haul guys! Let me know what you think in the comment section. Have you tried any of these products before? Did you participate in the sale? Questions, reviews and so on are welcome. Don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss a post.

You know I’m awesome xoxo.
